Zero corkage, seven stars – summer offer

Image

This summer, Bordeaux Index is repeating their star-studded zero-corkage offer that Jancis first mentioned on the Members' forum way back in 2009, only this time with a veritable galaxy of choice. This is what they say:

After dozens of customer requests we are delighted to announce the return of 'Michelin Madness' – and 2011 is the best offer yet. In 2009 we brought you 3 stars… In 2010 we brought you 4 stars… this year we bring you 7 stars across London!

The common denominator of these five establishments is of course the highly successful restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin, but the day-to-day work undertaken by co-owners Phil Howard, Brett Graham and Bruce Poole is what makes these restaurants tick.

We are offering Bordeaux Index customers an outstanding opportunity to dine without paying corkage.

Five of London’s top Michelin-starred restaurants, The Square (2*), The Ledbury (2*), Chez Bruce (1*), La Trompette (1*) and The Glasshouse (1*) would like to extend the opportunity of bringing your own wine for six weeks this summer, free of corkage. Full details of the offer below.

Since opening in 1991 The Square has been second to none for fine dining and perhaps more importantly (for some) fine drinking. Despite its two Michelin stars, The Square has an extremely well-priced and well-chosen wine list and is one of the most ‘wine friendly’ restaurants in town. Restaurant owners Nigel Platts-Martin & Philip Howard’s ideal was simple, to produce impeccable seasonal ingredients accurately cooked and brought together on the plate in a harmonious, elegant, yet satisfying manner.

The Ledbury
127 Ledbury Road
Notting Hill
London

The Ledbury in Notting Hill is now well and truly on the culinary map. The Ledbury and its Chef/Owner Brett Graham seem to have won every award going in the past year or so. No wonder tables are so sought after! Brett continues to produce some of (if not THE best) food in Britain. 'I travel the world showing my wines with great food, but I have never experienced food and wine matching like this' – Egon Müller on The Ledbury.

Chez Bruce

London

One of the most famous restaurants in the UK, Chez Bruce was set up by Bruce Poole and Nigel Platts-Martin in 1995. Their objective from the outset was to serve the very best food in a relaxed, informal yet thoroughly professional environment. In 16 years it has gone from strength to strength and is now regarded as one of Britain’s legendary eating establishments.

La Trompette
5-7 Devonshire Rd
Chiswick
London

La Trompette (nearest tube Turnham Green) is owned by Nigel Platts-Martin and Bruce Poole, the partnership behind Chez Bruce and The Glasshouse. It therefore serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital's top-end establishments. The comfortable and stylish dining room is a vibrant, busy and friendly place to be, with service that is highly professional yet relaxed and informal.
