New world cheese and wine tasting event

6pm for 6.30pm-8.30pm

Wednesday 2 October

On the evening of Wednesday 2 October we will be showcasing some of the fermented wonders of the New World with a pairing of cheese, wine and beers.

We’ll be featuring new season cheeses made using fresh spring milk from small farms across regional Australia, a couple of benchmarks from the thriving American farmhouse cheese scene, paired together with wine and beer from both countries.

For those just becoming acquainted with the ‘New World’ of wine, very simply it is wine made in a country or region that does not have as long a history in viticulture or winemaking as the ‘Old World’ countries of Europe.

What is most fascinating about the New World is the possibility available for exploration and innovation, without being defined by an extended history or bound by the constraints of traditional practices and entrenched regulations on winemaking and viticulture.  Exciting stuff really if you’re willing to take your seat at the table with an open mind.

Join our resident cheesemonger, Anthony Femia, and wine team member from The European Group, Adam Cotterell, for what will be a fun and informative evening as we host our very first tasting event in the Cheese Cellar.

Tickets are $85 each, beginning with a glass of sparkling and a canapé on arrival followed by 6 pairings and discussion of New world cheeses, wines and beer.
