You are invited to our next tasting on Wednesday 8th May from 17.00-21.00h at our shop in Clifton Road W9. We’ll be showing new arrivals from Germany, France and Italy.
Our sparkling opener will be the fabulous Cuvee Vaux Sekt by Schloss Vaux from Eltville in the Rheingau, which we picked up last week. http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/schloss-vaux-stadt-eltville/
Then dry Riesling, packed with spicy minerals from the red cliffs of Nierstein by Christine Huff of Fritz Ekkehard-Huff. http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/fritz-ekkehard-huff-nierstein-schwabsburg/
How about a viscous, oily southern Rhone white by Raphael Trouiller from the shadow of the Mont Ventoux? http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/cascavel/
Recently arrived from Burgundy - Stephanie Mosnier’s intense old vine Chablis. http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/sylvain-mosnier-chablis-beine/
We all enjoyed Hannes Rottensteiner’s Weissburgunder/Pinot Bianco from the Alto Adige last month, so we thought we’d show one of his Alpine reds called Edelvernatsch, otherwise known as Schiava in other parts of Italy or Trollinger in Germany. http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/rottensteiner/
Also, picked-up last week from the Ahr valley near Bonn and brand new to the UK, silky, smoky, autumnal Spatburgunder (that’s German for Pinot Noir) by Peter Lingen.
After the long winter, we could all use some life-enhancing polyphenols, so we thought we’d check out teacher-turned-winemaker Philippe Laduguie’s Fronton. http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/saint-guilhem-fronton/
Our monthly tastings at The Winery are very informal, just come along any time between 17.00h-21.00h.
We do hope you can join us and, as usual, feel free to bring a friend.
Our following tasting will be at The Winery and is slated for Tuesday 4th June. http://www.thewineryuk.com/tastings/
