You are invited to our next tasting on Tuesday 2nd October from 17.00-21.00h at our shop in Clifton Road W9.
Our key themes for the evening will be new arrivals from the northern Rhone and the Rheingau.
Our shipment from the northern Rhone valley has arrived including the latest releases from David Reynaud whose biodynamic Crozes-Hermitage always flies off our shelves. When we visited in the sweltering heat a few weeks ago we spotted his latest Viognier and Syrah, tasted them and promptly added both to our order.http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/david-reynaud/
We are just back with a full vanload from a week in Germany. Our opener will be from the latest batch of Zum Krug sparkling dry Riesling by Josef Laufer in Hattenheim. Also from the Rheingau, from Hochheim, the home of Hock, we have delicious dry Riesling from Himmel. Emmerich and Annette’s daughter Katrin is now working in the winery alongside her studies at nearby Geisenheim, the top wine university in Germany. Their 2011s are electric.http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/himmel-hochheim-organic/
Kloster Eberbach, the state of Hessen’s wine domain, may be big but they are also making excellent wines from legendary vineyards in the Rheingau. We will be showing Gehrn, a dry Riesling Spatlese saturated with oily minerals and multi-layered textures.http://www.thewineryuk.com/growers/kloster-eberbach-eltville/
Completing the line-up will be Caterina di Carli’s Rosso di Montalcino – a wonderful, silky Sangiovese from Tuscany – and chunky Rioja by Roberto Pangua of Heredad Pangua Sodupe.
We do hope you can join us and, as usual, feel free to bring a friend.
Our following event will be at The Winery and slated for Tuesday 20th November.http://www.thewineryuk.com/tastings/You can also keep in touch on Facebook.http://www.facebook.com/thewineryuk
