Jimmy's Favourites: Delicious Chenin Blanc

Friday 7 June 2013

,

In our latest launch of tastings will be focussing on what grape varieties Wine School founder Jimmy Smith passionately loves. The first up is the long-lived and wonderfully complex Chenin Blanc. The tasting will discover 10 wines, four 'must-taste' domaines from the Loire Valley including Vouvray from Domaine Huet and Domaine Vincent Careme and Savennieres from Domaine du Closel and Nicolas Joly. We then will compare these to four fine South African examples to represent the rise in diversity and excitement from the Southern Hemisphere. To wrap up the tasting we'll tuck into a fabulous Chenin Blanc/Viognier blend from California to see how the variety works in blending. Very tasty!

If you want to discover why this grape variety is lauded as the finest white in the world, and why Jimmy loves it so, then sign-up and start looking forward to it!
