Perfect Partners

Thursday 29 August 2013

,

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Abbott and Costello, Lennon and McCartney: these are great partnerships known the world over.

Within the world of wine many grape varieties have also become synonymous with certain regions, finding their perfect home in terroirs across the planet. These classic partnerships are the result of historic combinations that have grown up over years and in some cases centuries of matching grape variety to place to produce world class wines.

In this informal walk-around tasting we shall be celebrating these perfect pairings, discovering as we taste what makes these combinations of terroir and variety produce such unique wines. 20 different wines from across the globe will be on show including cabernet sauvignon from Bordeaux, riesling from the Mosel Valley and shiraz from Australia.

Join us for this ideal opportunity to explore a selection of classic wines, some modern, some traditional, but all guaranteed to tempt the taste buds and show why these wines and locations deserve to be perfect partners.

Only Society members may purchase tickets – non-members may attend as guests.
