Manzanilla is a collaboration between Dani García, chef of the famed Michelin two-star restaurant Calima in Marbella, Spain, and restaurateur Yann de Rochefort; and with Rick Pitcher at the helm of the beverage program, Manzanilla can boast for the largest sherry selection in New York. This dinner is an opportunity to experience sherry in its most traditional setting, alongside contemporary interpretations of authentic cuisine from Andalucía and other Spanish regions.
We’re delighted to welcome Steve Cook of Barbadillo and Rafael Rodríguez of Williams & Humbert as our guest hosts for this sherry dinner: Barbadillo is Sanlúcar’s most important wine producer, while Williams & Humbert is one of Jerez’s most visible sherry companies. Both of these firms have roots in the nineteenth century, and both are renowned for their collections of old wines. We’ll be pouring some of the finest wines from each of these two houses, complementing them with Manzanilla’s superb cuisine — if you can’t make a trip to Spain, this is the next best thing!
