The Great Second Wines of Bordeaux

,
The 1855 Classification of the Medoc and the wines of Sauternes has never been amended except for the promotion of Ch. Mouton Rothschild in 1973. There are five Classed growths encompassing wines with legendary status. For those of us who are unable to experience these wines but want to gain an understanding of these celebrated Château’s; there are second wines. Not every grape from classified vineyards will go into the top wines but into a wine which is for earlier drinking and as a result is easier on the wallet! Such wines are second wines and in a good vintage they can be exceptional quality with a huge name behind them.
Join Toby I’Anson to try a selection of these wonderful second wines
