The Institute of Masters of Wine Grenache/Garnacha Seminar

Friday 15 May 2015

,

The Institute of Masters of Wine is delighted to host this ground-breaking seminar on Garnacha/Grenache – the ‘Cinderella’ grape variety now internationally acclaimed for its exceptional potential for quality if grown and nurtured under the right conditions.

The seminar will feature three panellists: Telmo Rodriguez, one of Spain’s pioneering champions of Garnacha as well as Biodynamism; Tim James, the acclaimed winemaker at Willunga 100 in South Australia’s McLaren Vale; and a third speaker to be confirmed.

The seminar will be moderated by Julia Harding MW, a leading authority on grape varieties around the world and co-author of the definitive study, Wine Grapes. Each of the panellists will present an overview of his personal experience with this often temperamental variety and offer a tasting of four of his top wines. Audience participants will be encouraged to ask probing questions, following each presentation.

Don’t miss this exceptional event, the first of its kind in London, and the first IMW event to focus in-depth on Garnacha/Grenache. Tickets are priced at £80 with discounts for Masters of Wine and MW students.

To book, please contact Alexandra Runciman (arunciman@mastersofwine.org or +44 (0)207 383 9130). We expect demand for this very special event to be extremely high. Only limited places are available, so please book promptly to guarantee your attendance.
