West London Wine School Devaux Champagne & Cheese Pairing

Friday 26 February 2016

,

Join us for a night of utter decadence as we welcome Bethan Wallace, the ambassador of Champagne Devaux, to the school for a mouthwatering Champagne tasting matched with delicious cheese. There will be a Grande Reserve Brut Champagne aperitif on arrival, followed by a tutored tasting of six world-class Champagnes matched with six superb cheeses including Vacherin Mont d'Or, Crottin de Chavignol and Comte.

Champagne Devaux

Devaux is a boutique and dynamic Champagne brand founded in 1846 and located in the southerly Cote-des-Bar region of Champagne known for its Pinot Noir and rosé. The brand is owned by its growers, so it can boast complete control of its grape supply – a rarity in Champagne where most big houses buy their grapes. The “D Collection” wines are Devaux’s very best. They are made using highly selected grapes from across 35 hectares of sustainable and organic vineyards, and all benefit from at least 5 years ageing (more than three times the requirement for Champagne) which brings added complexity and finesse. The quality of these Champagnes can be attested by the numerous awards, such as a rating of 19/20 by leading Champagne critic Tom Stevenson for the Devaux “D Rosé”.
