West London Wine School Introduction to Italy 4 Week Course

Thursday 3 September 2015

,

Join us as we journey through the wine regions of Italy. Discover what makes Italy the most fascinating wine producing nation in the world! Taste beautiful Barolo, velvety Valpolicella, charming Chianti amongst many others. We will explore regions such as Piedmont, Veneto, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Lombardia, Puglia, Trentino, and Sicily. Four whole weeks dedicated to Italy enabling us to unravel the mysteries and delights of Italian wine.

"Superb, refreshing course taught with energy & passion – a light-hearted fun approach. Packed with great wines, information and an overall excellent way to learn about wine" (Sandy Greetham, Discover Italy Graduate)

We will taste some of the myriad of indigenous grapes that make Italian wine so different and intriguing including - Nebbiolo (Barolo), Sangiovese (Chianti), Corvina (Valpolicella), and Barbera. Italy can be the most confusing wine country to get to know, with its enormous diversity of wine styles, often from the same town! It is, however, worth spending a little time to understand it, with the discoveries amply repaying the effort involved. We will wander through the north of the country, from the NW (Piedmont) to the NE (Veneto), through Tuscany and Marche to the warm south (Puglia, Campania, & Sicily). You will experience, first hand, the amazing range of grape varieties and flavours that Italy has to offer. You will taste some classic Italian wines, along with some new- wave wines from really cutting-edge winemakers.
