Winemaker for a Day, at London's first winery

Saturday 12 April 2014

,

Ever wanted to chuck it all in, run off to the Continent and become a winemaker? Well now you can have a taste of the good life without leaving Zone 1, becoming a ‘Winemaker for a Day’ at London Cru, central London’s first winery.

The afternoon starts with welcome drinks, a tour of the winery, and a tasting of this year’s wines in tank and barrel. After that we’ll walk you through the wine making process – everything from the delivery of grapes, triage on the sorting table, crushing, pressing, tank fermenting and the use of oak barrels in the winemaking process.

Once you’ve learnt what’s in your wine and the purpose of each component (sugar, acid and tannins amongst others) you’ll get to try your hand at making your own blends from base wines we provide, but don’t worry, we’ll be on hand to answer questions, taste test your creations and offer advice.

The day will also include a two-course ‘London Cru lunch’ with wine, dished up in Gastropub ‘The Atlas’, which is just across the road. Tickets are limited to just 10 spaces per session so booking early is advisable.

Once you’ve created 3 wines you’ll get to pick your favourite, and we’ll bottle it for you to take home and enjoy that evening.

So, what are you waiting for? Reserve your spot soon as spaces are limited and it’s not every day you get to make your own wine!
