This qualification was initially created for the front-of-house staff within the on-trade sector. It has now grown into a course with global appeal, providing basic product knowledge to first time employees in the wine industry and the interested consumer alike.
The aim of the course is to give a basic introduction to wine followed by basic food & wine pairings.
We will focus on the main styles of wine, the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine, the characteristics of the common grape varieties used to produce wine, service of wine, health safety and legal issues and the pairing of food and wine.
Course Details
The course will be taught over 1 day with the culmination – a 30-question multiple-choice exam and a food and wine matching exercise
Lunch and refreshments are provided and the course cost covers WSET™ examination fees, WSET™ course materials, and WSET™ accredited tuition.
