GENERAL

What’s new?

To see the most recently published articles, you can do any of the following:

See the four most recent articles on the home page and then find those published immediately before them by clicking on More recent articles at the bottom of this section. Follow the page numbers at the bottom to travel all the way back to articles published in 2000.

Click on News, and then Latest articles.

When you have opened an article, see the list of Latest articles to the left.

To read an article, just click on its title.

Several new articles are added to the site most days, though rarely on Sundays.

Please note that our thousands of articles and tens of thousands of tasting notes are to be found on this website. You would not want us to clutter up your Inbox with details of every new article (more than 15 most weeks). Should you wish to keep up with new additions, you can always sign up here to receive a regular RSS feed.

We send brief emails every few weeks to those who register for our free newsletter but the best way of keeping up with our prodigious output is to keep visiting JancisRobinson.com

How do I print an article?

Click on the little printer icon in the upper right-hand corner of the article to view a print-friendly version of it. Then click on File and choose Print in your browser menu in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

How do I send an article to a friend?

Click on the little letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the article. This will take you to a new window in your email application. Simply fill in the recipient's name, as you would for any email. (But please note that if it is an article within the Purple pages part of the site, the recipient will not be able to read the article unless he or she is a member of Purple pages.)

How do I find articles on a specific subject?

You can type a subject, with as many words as you like, into the site search box in the right-hand menu. If you are looking for articles, make sure you have selected Rest of site from the list below the search box. Clicking Go, or hitting the Enter key, will result in a list of articles matching the subject, generally listed in declining order of relevance.

If you are reading an article and you want to find related articles, scroll to the end of the article and click on the tag or tags at the end (only a few articles have no tags at all). This will take you to all other articles with the same tag.

We also have a special Tasting notes search facility for Purple pagers so that you can easily locate one or a set of tasting notes according to what you key into the search boxes: a certain wine, producer, vintage, region, minimum score, etc. See here for more detailed guidance on using this most effectively.

We also have a complete list of all tasting articles, listed in order of publication within region, at Tasting articles by region.

How do I contact you?

Click on Contact us at the bottom of any page. Choose General Enquiries from the drop-down list in the Subject box unless your query is about Subscriptions or access to Purple pages (see below), or you have spotted a problem with an article (then chooose Content Problems). Please note that email is the most effective method of communication. Although a phone number and postal address are given, emails are likely to be answered much more swiftly than telephone messages.

PURPLE PAGERS/SUBSCRIBERS/MEMBERS

What are Purple pages?
This is the meatiest bit of the site, updated the most frequently, with a lively forum, insider tips, hot gossip, tens of thousands of tasting notes and the world’s only online version of the multi-award-winning giant reference work The Oxford Companion to Wine and the wonderfully detailed, fully searchable maps of the world-famous World Atlas of Wine. How do I join?

Just click here, or click on Join now near the log-in box or at the bottom of any page. After filling in the form, you will have unlimited access to everything ever published on this, the liveliest and most substantial bit of the site, since its inception in 2000. You can choose whether to pay in pounds sterling (£/GBP), US dollars ($), euros (€) or Australian dollars (Aus$/AUD), and whether to pay on an annual or monthly basis.

Your membership will be renewed automatically, unless you decide to cancel (see below), via a FuturePay agreement with independent payment provider RBS WorldPay. Do make a note of the details of this agreement that will appear both on your online confirmation and in your confirmation email as these will allow you to change your card details if necessary and - heaven forfend - cancel your membership.

I'm a member but I can’t access Purple pages

This may be because you are entering your email address and/or password incorrectly. Do remember the password is CasE-SensiTiVe and has to be entered exactly as you entered it on your subscription form. See above if you have forgotten your password.

Alternatively, check that you are entering the email address that we have on our records. Perhaps try a previous email address and, if successful, contact subscriptions@jancisrobinson.com  with old and new email addresses if you wish to change.

Or it may be because your subscription has expired. You can check the expiration date via My account/Payment plan, which provides you with an option to renew.
