Using the Atlas maps on an Apple Mac

GENERAL

What’s new?

To see the most recently published articles, you can do any of the following:

See the three most recent articles on the home page and then find those published immediately before them by clicking on More recent articles at the bottom of this section.  Follow the page numbers at the bottom to travel all the way back to articles published in 2000.

Click on News, and then Latest articles.

See the list of Latest articles to the left of any regular article.

To read an article, just click on its title.

Several new articles are added to the site most days, though rarely on Sundays.

How do I print an article?

Click on the little printer icon in the upper right-hand corner of the article to view a print-friendly version of it. Then click on File, Print in your browser menu in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

How do I send an article to a friend?

Click on the little letter icon in the upper right hand corner of the article, fill in the ‘Send this page to a friend’ form and click on ‘send’. (But note that if it is an article within the Purple pages part of the site, the recipient will not be able to read the article unless he or she is a member of Purple pages.)

How do I find articles on a specific subject?

You can key a subject with as many words as you like in the site search box in the right hand menu. Clicking ‘search’ will result in a list of articles matching the subject, generally listed in declining order of relevance.

We also have a special tasting notes search facility for Purple pagers so that they can easily locate one or a set of tasting notes according to what they key into the search boxes: a certain wine, producer, vintage, region, minimum score, etc. Major horizontal tasting notes can be rapidly located using tasting articles by region.

How do I contact you?

Click on Contact at the bottom of any page. Choose General Enquiries from the drop-down Subject box unless your query is about Subscriptions or access to Purple pages (see below), or you have spotted a problem with an article (Content Problems). Please note that email is the most effective method of communication. Although a phone number and postal address are given, emails are likely to be answered much more swiftly than telephone messages.

I’ve forgotten my username and/or password…

Please remember that passwords are CasE-SensiTiVe, so have to be entered exactly as you entered them on your subscription form.

If you have changed any personal details (eg address, company or location) since taking out a subscription and have not informed us, please go to Preferences, Personal details and enter the new information, taking care to click on Save. If you have changed your email address, you cannot update this via Preferences and you will need to inform us directly by emailing subscriptions@jancisrobinson.com.

In extremis you can always email subscriptions@jancisrobinson.com for help from our subscriptions supremo Rachel Shaughnessy.

I’ve changed my email address…

So that you can log in effectively, and so that we can keep in touch with you, please tell us if your preferred email address has changed since taking out a subscription to Purple pages. Just email subscriptions@jancisrobinson.com telling us of your old and new email addresses and we will do the rest. Please note that you cannot update your email address via Preferences, Personal details.

I'm a member but I can’t access Purple pages

This may be because you are entering your username and/or password incorrectly. Do remember the password is CasE-SensiTiVe and has to be entered exactly as you entered them on your subscription form. See above if you have forgotten your username and/or password.

Alternatively, check that you are entering the email address that we have on our records. Perhaps try a previous email address and, if successful, contact subscriptions@jancisrobinson.com  with old and new email addresses if you wish to change.

Or it may be because your subscription has expired. You can check the expiration date via Preferences/Payment plan, which provides you with an option to renew.
