Two great Sancerre producers
Those of us in the northern hemisphere are just approaching what we hope will be a good season for drinking Sancerre. I had the pleasure of dining with two of Sancerre’s finest producers, both Jean-Marie Bourgeois and M et Mme Vincent Pinard, in the Loire last March, chez wine brokers Charles and Philippa Sydney. We tasted quite a few of their wines that evening and I have since had a chance to see more of the Bourgeois wines and my notes appear below, followed by some suggested alternatives from less famous producers in and around Sancerre.
