Bordeaux 2006 tasting notes – Pomerol and Fronsac
Below are my and Julia's tasting notes for the wines of the Pomerol, Lalande-de-Pomerol, Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac. There was probably a higher proportion of really successful wines in Pomerol than in any other appellation in 2006 - helped by the fact that so many properties were able to pick their Merlots before the really heavy rains - although the Pomerols are generally as mixed as every other appellation. The Fronsacs aren't at all bad either. There is real energy in this and the Canon-Fronsac appellations.
