As the focus of many wine lovers' attention is on the new, superripe 2009 bordeaux vintage , it seems appropriate to look at how the vintage to which it is often being compared is performing as it approaches its 30th anniversary - JR. This was a rare treat, and one I almost declined because of a very early start the next morning. So glad I didn't.
