St Urbans-Hof Leiwener Laurentiuslay back to 1963

Please note that we will soon be publishing at least two more collections of tasting notes on the toothsome 2009 Germans, including selections from The Wine Society's and Tanners' offers. Leiwener Laurentiuslay, that's to say the Laurentiuslay vineyard on the opposite side of the serpentine Mosel river from the village of Leiwen in the Middle Mosel, is a long, steep, narrow strip of vines that fall away cliff-like to the river below and produce rich, full-bodied Rieslings thanks to the south- and south-west facing lie of the land and the dark, decomposed slate that stores daytime heat and gives it back at night....
