Bordeaux 2001s 10 years on

Although I saw somewhat to my surprise that we already had a total of more than 800 tasting notes on bordeaux wines made in 2001, the 60-odd reviews below were written at a retrospective 10-years-on tasting held earlier this month by fine-wine traders Bordeaux Index. (See my account of their retrospective of 2000 bordeaux published last year.) These 2001 reds were not overall quite as impressive as the 2000s had been en masse, but although they were less concentrated, they were nicely balanced and pretty impressive at this stage in their development.
