The exciting if daunting responsibility of choosing 50 top Portuguese wines falls to me this year, as Jancis reported here , following in the footsteps of Tom Cannavan of wine-pages.com . This made me all the more eager to see which wines Tom had chosen - from over 1,000 wines he has tasted over the last 12 months - and to  taste the final line-up presented in London recently.
