The just-announced selection of 2009s are some of the best value wines to have come out of Bordeaux. Ever. The super-ripe, healthy, plump style of this vintage suits some of these less favoured terroirs down to the ground - a bit like the way some of the Côte d'Or's less glamorous villages come into their own in exceptionally warm vintages there. The wines vary in style, as one would hope and expect, but there are very few examples...
