Croatia - land of opportunity
I am yet to visit Croatia as a wine writer. My direct experience of it is limited to a few days on the Dalmatian coast in the late 1970s when all I can remember consuming is particularly fatty ham, hard and unsalted bread and rather good beer. And whenever I have flown over Croatia, in fine weather, I have marvelled at the beauty of the coastline, islands and the deep aquamarine Adriatic.
