Stone, Vine & Sun was one of the first of Britain's current welcome wave of small independent wine merchants selling mainly by word of mouth and the internet. It was founded in Hampshire by Simon Taylor, a genial refugee from the fine-art world in London. The company's speciality is hand-picked wines retailing for around £7-12 that offer really solid value and character, so I have found not a few to recommend in my current Top 100 Wines being featured in the Financial Times .
