Following yesterday's What's new, Montalcino? and tasting notes on Brunello 2007 , here Walter wholeheartedly recommends the Brunello 2006 Riservas. While Montalcino keeps on soul searching about what it really wants to be - a wine expressing its unique terroir, or everything to everyone (although this may well be the wish of only a minority within the region) - the 2006 Riservas should give a clue as to what needs to happen: absolutely nothing.
