Guillaume d'Angerville of Volnay came to London recently to show his delicious 2010s as well as a vertical of his flagship Clos des Ducs. You can read some of the background to his tenure in d'Angerville back to 1990 published in 2009. The domaine is clearly set on an exciting path. The tasting was held in the new cellars under the extended Connaught Hotel and very smart they are too. You retreat deep into the building, past what used to be the Connaught Grill and take the lift down two floors to what is described intriguingly as 'Aman Spa and Gymnasium (Wine Cellar)'.
