As you read this, Michael Schmidt and I will be hard at work tasting the official preview of 2011 white and 2010 red Grosses/Erstes Gewächs wines under the auspices of the VDP in Wiesbaden. This means of course that we will be tasting 'only' wines made by members of the VDP association of smart estates  (though the Wiesbaden tasting runs to 350 wines).
