Ch Trotanoy - some fleshy highlights
What a treat it was to be invited to a dinner featuring the luscious Pomerol Ch Trotanoy organised recently by UK importers Corney & Barrow in a private room at the Ritz hotel.
Perhaps the vintages had been chosen with special care but there was not a dud in the line-up - all of them in magnums except for the 1982. The 1990 was absolutely glorious and I loved even the first wine, a sort of 'not second wine', L'Espérance de Trotanoy produced exceptionally in 2009. You can find it for $45 a bottle in Belgium, whereas the grand vin costs four or five times as much.
