Asda - at the coal face of wine retail
Not much left in the purse? British supermarket Asda's recent press tasting showed how determined they are to keep prices low - 'that's Asda price', as the slogan goes.
There is a new own-label range (pictured) dubbed the 'Wine Selection' that sits below the Extra Special, and is priced between £3.98 and £5.98. It is remarkable that some of these wines are entirely respectable, even at such low prices, though it is hardly surprising that many others were decidedly not.
