There were so many cranes and builders at Latour that we had to taste far away from the château itself down towards the Gironde. 'We need space', explained Frédéric Engerer, who was busy showing both the 2012 (which will not be offered en primeur to the chagrin of the Bordeaux négociants) and the 'mature' 1995 vintage that has been offered recently. 'This is the first year we have 90 ha in full production [Latour have been buying vineyard energetically] and we need more vats...
