Manincor, Alto Adige - a discussion with nature
After last week's audit of the quantitative significance of organic and biodynamic viticulture, and in the wake of Walter's conversion to Alto Adige Pinot Bianco , it seemed fitting to publish this account of the biodynamic estate of Manincor. While organics has yet to be embraced widely in Alto Adige, the 400-year-old Manincor estate, consisting of some 50 ha, is managed completely biodynamically. The estate, positioned a stone's throw away from Lago di Caldaro of Schiava fame, is owned by Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg, who had the extremely clever foresight to appoint Helmuth Zozin (pictured) as estate manager....
