Rhône 2012 - other southern reds

Of course the 250 Châteauneuf 2012s we reported on yesterday are just part of the southern Rhône story. Some of the other appellations in this sunny south-east corner of France can offer some of the very best value in the wine world - although I heard one or two grumbles about Gigondas prices. I'm usually a big fan of Gigondas but Gigondas growers seem to have had a tough time in 2012. Particularly severe frosts did serious damage, particularly to some of the oldest vines, in February 2012 and the summer...
