Those of us in Britain are keenly aware that from next Wednesday we will be invaded by hordes of Romanians and Bulgars in search of our jobs and our social benefits. At least that is the scenario described in our more scare-mongering media, aware that various EU controls on migration are to be lifted in the new year. I thought it might be appropriate therefore to look at a selection of Romanian wines that have been targeted specifically at the UK market. These are all from the same producer, whose Banat winery is shown here, despite the different branding and appellations. I was impressed by how clean and crisp all the wines...
