This little collection of tasting notes has only the region of origin in common. Albet y Noya is one of the most innovative producers of traditional-method fizz in Penedès and, like such other ambitious producers in the region as Masia Can Mayol, Colet, Finca Aviñó, Font Puig, Mas Bertran, Mas Comtal, Mas Con Colomé, Mora Ferrer and Torre del Veguer, is so fed up with the Cava appellation that it no longer uses it. They argue that Cava has an irretrievably mass-market image and is therefore unsuitable for their better-quality wines. As a result they are selling their wines as Penedès, but Albet y Noya is trying to stir up...
