Walter falls for Asti, sweet and now dry

Walter is passionate about a light, sweet, lightly sparkling historic wine too often overlooked. Now joined by a dry version. 

With the festive season upon us and sparkling wines commanding attention (see this guide to our recent coverage of them), there is one that hardly gets a mention. It is the underdog Moscato d’Asti. Faced with the double whammy of being sweet (‘so out of fashion!’) as well as being cheap, it fails to appeal to many a wine lover’s imagination [except that of Michael Broadbent MW – JR].

The many mediocre wines on the market are certainly to blame...
