Jancis took this picture of the brand new premises of Laurent Ponsot in a business park on the outskirts of Gilly-lès-Cîteaux, just next door to Mark Haisma's new premises. Laurent has broken away from the family-owned Domaine Ponsot above Morey-St-Denis, which is now run by Laurent's sister. Neither producer was visited this year.

RH: Good, classic styling with a strong sense of identity.

François Parent, Grand Cru 2016 Corton-Charlemagne

Delicious nutty aromas with a flinty, sulphidic nose that gives great complexity to the palate. Vivid apple fruit with a long finish and plump body offset by vibrant acidity. Chewy, lengthy finish. (RH)

François Parent 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin

Rosehip and redcurrant on the nose, in a fairly restrained style with tight tannins and bright acidity. Tangy and glossy with perhaps not quite enough flavour concentration to last a very long time, but plenty to satisfy in the medium term. (RH)
