Chewing the 2010 cud with Staples

It's in danger of becoming a bit of a tradition, an annual exchange of hot air about the Bordeaux primeurs just tasted with sales director Simon Staples at Berry Bros' London premises.

My performance fee was paid in the form of a couple of delicious mature red bordeaux over the Berrys lunch table, Ch Pichon Lalande 1996 and Ch Léoville Las Cases 1988. I have added tasting notes on them to our 55,000-strong collection of wine reviews – as usual writing a new tasting note for different bottles of the same wine (although, unusually, in my Bordeaux 2010 reviews I have included notes on more than one tasting of the same wine in the same review).
