Figures supplied by the Chianti Classico Consorzio clearly imply some sort of stabilisation in exports, where decline in the most important markets is compensated for by slight growth in others. While exports to the US in 2007 were still 30% of the total exported, this declined to 27% in 2009, mirrored by overall Italian wine exports to the US, which in the same period fell back from 27% to 25%.
