Eben Sadie defines the Swartland

Image

Eben Sadie is the most passionate and coherent exponent of the Swartland region of South Africa. Here he explains why. See here for my tasting notes on his and fellow Swartlanders' wines tasted at Lammershoek in Agter Paardeberg, a part of the Swartland that is not yet officially designated as a separate ward. (You may hear the French-accented tones of wine writer Michel Bettane, who was one of the international judges at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show and with whom I travelled during the two days after the show.)
