Foires aux Vins reminder

This reminder just in from French resident Brit Jim Brough:

Since last year I have moved my business [Blunt Communications – the straight talking PR agency] to the south of France and have also started writing a twice weekly e-newsletter called www.Frenglish.co.uk.

This is an irreverent look at all things French that you often only see when ‘on the ground’. I thought that you may be interested in the most recent article which is about La Foire aux Vins 2007 – entitled ‘Serious about Sales’. This fair lasts approximately a month and the wines cover all price ranges. However, the more newsworthy stuff is at the top end.

I just thought that it may be of interest since I’m sure your UK readership wouldn’t mind a trip over the channel to pick up such fantastic bargains. A few examples (and a comparison of UK prices) below.
Ch Lafite Rothschild 2004 – £90 a bottle (UK price: £270)
Carruades de Lafite 2005 – £30 a bottle (UK price: £67)
Forts de Latour 2004 – £40 a bottle (UK price: £70)
See my earlier notice here.  I just hope there are still stocks of the most obvious bargains...
