Is Fortune fed up of wine?

The California rumour mill is turning extra fast at the moment with whispers that Beam Wine Estates, the company created in 2005 when the owners of Jim Beam whiskey scooped up the brands left from the break-up of Allied-Domecq, is to be sold to Diageo.
 
For some employees this could mean that they would have been employed serially by Seagram, Allied Domecq, Fortune Brands (the Jim Beam parent company) and then yet another global drinks company Diageo. Just Foster’s, Pernod Ricard and Constellation to go, folks!
