Those of you with extremely good hearing and sufficient persistence to watch the entire fourth video may have heard Andrea Franchetti referring to the shepherds whom he has found to be the biggest viticultural hazard in these largely disease-free vineyards. With names such as Mondroit, Belmagne and Monforte magnificently echoing the Norman occupation of Sicily, they have tended to continue to let their sheep graze in these new vineyards, much to the detriment of the vines.
