The first vineyard in Norway?

Klaus Peter Keller of Weingut Keller in the village of Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Rheinhessen, tells me he is planning to plant a small Riesling vineyard in Kristiansand in Norway (one of the warmer parts of the country) in May this year. The area is just being prepared: ‘very nice granite soil, similar to some of the Grands Crus vineyards in Alsace’.

It started off as a bit of a joke between Keller and his Norwegian apprentice Anne Enggrav, who continues the story.
