The red and white of Canada

Some of Canada's best winemakers gathered in London in May to present their latest reds and whites. As I found out when visiting the Okanagan last summer, it's a country that can excel at almost any grape variety, but I focused this tasting mostly on Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir. Generally favoured by cooler climates, these three varieties are also widely accepted as watersheds for winemaking quality. It is the ambition of any self-respecting region to produce top examples of this triumvirate.
