Bordeaux 1983 with Richard Brazier

Thursday 7 February 2013

,

As was always likely, after the surprisingly successful 1982 vintage, the Bordelais were going to claim 1983 was as good if not better. It is probably not either but different as a much more classical style at the top end and, principally on the Medoc side, very successful. It has required a good long maturation period to show its true colours and 30 years should really sort out the men from the boys. Experience shows that this proposed line up includes most of the best wines produced that year.
Leoville-Las Cases, Domaine de Chevalier, Pichon Lalande, Canon, Gruaud Larose, Cos D’Estournel, Ducru Beaucaillou, Palmer & Leoville Poyferre.
