Querciabella produces four wines from its exceptional biodynamic vineyards located in the heart of Chianti Classico. Camartina, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, is Querciabella’s flagship wine and only produced in the finest vintages. Elegant and concentrated but never over-the-top, Camartina is a wine that is beautifully defined – at once hedonistic and restrained. As Walter Speller puts it, ‘Camartina is Tuscan in every sense’.
The term Super Tuscan refers to a breed of wines from Tuscany that do not conform to the traditional rules of the region and utilise additional non-Italian varietals in their blends such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. While critiqued by traditionalists, modernists view these wines as innovative adding to an ever-increasing diversity emerging from Tuscany. Other great Super Tuscans include Sassacaia, Tignanello and Masseto.
