Château Brane-Cantenac Vertical Tasting with Henri Lurton
Wednesday 14 November 2012
,
Over the course of 12 vintages, attendees will have the opportunity to experience firsthand how the wines of Château Brane-Cantenac have developed. Emerging from a period in which they produced relatively dry and austere wines in the 1970s and 1980s, now, under Lurton’s stewardship, the bottles are instead being described as, ‘approachable, silky, suave, seamless, stunning, and very sexy.’
The current crop is led by the seductive 2009, a wine that earned the estate its current ‘high water’ mark of 95 points from Robert Parker. This beauty, along with 11 others, will be poured by Mr. Lurton as he describes the outstanding and historic terroir of this Second Growth property. Unofficially described as ‘the first of the seconds’ and currently recognised as one of the most environmentally sustainable properties in Bordeaux, you do not want to miss this vertical.
