The supremacy of the great Southern Rhône appellation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is being challenged by some of its neighbours, who make wines of similar style from the same grape varieties. We will taste 4 wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape itself – Vieux Lazaret '11, Font de Michelle '09, Vieux Télégraphe '08 and Beaucastel '99 – and 1 each from top producers in Gigondas, Lirac, Rasteau and Vacqueyras.
