English Sparkling Wine Tasting (ONLINE)

Friday 18 September 2020

,

JOIN ME LIVE TO DISCUSS SOME TRULY AMAZING SPARKLING WINES FROM ENGLAND!

At these online classes we will be creating a shared tasting experience and educating in our typical fun way with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.  The French arguably make the best sparkling wine in the world – Champagne, but the English wine producing revolution has been, well typically English.  Quietly producing an array of styles of high quality and constantly improving wines English wine has suddenly propelled itself into the limelight of late.  Highlights have been The Royal Wedding in 2011, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and of course that episode of The Apprentice. We'll delve into the history of English wine making ancient and modern and discuss why our Sparkling wine is just so so very good! To share this experience furnish yourselves with a couple of English Sparkling Wines.   You'll be surprised how many are available with  Wines from Denbies Wine EstateChapel DownBolney Wine EstateCamel Valley and Ridgeview are among those on offer..... see below for a more comprehensive list. You will be impressed, these are delicious wines.  To compliment your English Sparkling Wines I suggest a mix of smoked salmon, Crab or Lobster salad and if you want to good old Fish and Chips!  Also get hold of some ferrero rocher , we'll se if you agree with my assessment of this pairing. Some of the sparkling wines you can get hold of easily are:
  • Tesco Finest or Finest Rose (From Hush Heath estate)
  • Chapel Down N.V. (Sainsburys or Booths)
  • Sainsburys Taste The Difference English Sparkling (From Denbies) or Sainsburys Ellercombe
  • Waitrose Leckford estate, Digby Fine English Leander Pink
  • Booths Own brand English Sparkling, Nyetimber, Ridgeview (my favourite) or Chapel Down
  • The Wine Society Exhibition, Nyetimber, Allbourne Estate, Fairmile, Exton Park
