GOURMET TRAVELLER CHARDONNAY TASTING – NSW & CANBERRA DISTRICT
It’s fair to say that Western Australia and Victoria have been on the radar of late for their edgy chardonnays. You’d be forgiven then if you haven’t had a chardonnay from NSW or Canberra, but the times are a changing.
Historically the warmer Hunter Valley has been making chardonnay since the early 1900s, and we are now seeing cooler areas, many with altitude around NSW and Canberra producing finer and detailed wines with a cleansing line of acidity.
The Gourmet Traveller Wine Panel made their way through 80 wines in one of their highest scoring tastings ever. Come along and informally taste at your leisure about 20 of the star performers from Canberra, Hunter Valley, Orange and Tumbarumba.
