Our Winemaker and Producer Tastings & Suppers are an opportunity to spend time with some of the world’s most exciting winemakers, experiencing the wines with their expert guidance. You’ll be amazed at how much a winemaker’s personality can be expressed through their wines, and by the passion they bring to making them.
This June, we are pleased to welcome Saskia Prüm, lead winemaker at the S.A Prüm Winey in Mosel to Davy’s for an evening delicious Rieslings and food. Anyone lucky enough to have tried a great German Riesling knows that it can be the best white wine in the world. For this tasting we will begin the evening with a refreshing glass of ‘Solitär’ Riesling before sitting down taste through several more including Kabinett, Spätlese and Auslese.
The Winery was founded in 1911 and has been passed down from generation to generation until in 2017 Saskia (4th Generation) became the first female in the estates history to be responsible for the estate. The property has earned a reputation as one of the most successful wineries in Germany’s celebrated Mosel wine region. We will sample wines from the incredibly steep Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard which is a renowned source of what is arguably Germany’s finest Riesling.
The tasting will be followed by a 3-course supper, with a wine paired with each course and Saskia on hand to answer any questions.
Please note, seating may be at communal tables, menus sometimes include sharing dishes. Tasting & talk from 6.30pm-7.45pm followed by supper. We aim to wrap up the evening by 9.30pm.
